Einar Wiik
was the visionary who started Standard Filter. He came over from
his native Norway in the 1950’s. As a tool and die maker and
then as a machine fabricator he built a reputation for ingenuity
in designing and fabricating filter production process equipment.
In the early 1970’s he opened his own business, Standard Filter,
in a small building near downtown Los Angeles. It was here that his
creativity flourished. Soon the building was too small and the plant
was moved to the first of what would be three buildings in the Atwater
area of Los Angeles.
In 1991 a new 30,000 sq. ft. facility was acquired in Carlsbad,
CA. It now houses arguably the most automated filter bag production
facility in the world.
Today Standard Filter Corporation is a world leader in filter manufacturing
serving the Americas, Asia, Australia and Europe. On October 4th,
2001, Einar left us for a greater journey but his spirit of innovation
is still alive and well in the organization he founded. Lotta Wiik
serves the company as Chairman of the Board, and Toby Wiik runs the
company’s day to day operations as President and Chief Executive
Officer.
Filter Media Fabrication
If
your baghouse filters have not been giving you the performance you
expect or require, let Standard Filter custom fabricate a filter
media for your specific application. We manufacture our own felts
and can provide the specifications necessary to increase the life
and performance of your filter bags. Our proprietary stretch-lock
manufacturing and heat-setting process eliminates the nagging problem
of sagging bags. No other manufacturer can offer such complete control
and custom fabrication to meet your demands.
Complete Lab Testing
Finding
out what causes a bag to fail prematurely and being able to intelligently
suggest corrective action is the reason we have our own in-house
test lab. This lab is available to all customers to help determine
the reason their filter bags are failing. We provide:
- Air Permeability
- Mullen Bursting Strength
- Tensile Testing
- Microscopic Photography
We then draw upon our experience with filter bags to give solutions
that SOLVE your problem. We know what's available in new fabrics
and finishes, hardware improvements and baghouse maintenance to give
you a truly complete analysis.
We provide:
